Enchanter’s Nightshade.

Deep in the woodland groves,

Further into the shades we go.

Our Willowy Enchanter there does grow

and only there his magic sows.

Slender, tall and barely there,

you’ll know him by his gap-toothed grin,

with eyes alight and sparkling,

for it’s he who holds the crown within.

Search for him on Summer’s eve

But—be warned! his crown you shall not cleave

from behind such crimson leaves

who will dissuade you from you prize.

Look for him on Winter’s morn

And sorrow only shall you find

for when Enchanter hunches, fools are blind

and thoughts of crowns left far behind.
